The separation of church and state is firmly ingrained in the U.S. Constitution. Key founders such as Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and others supported this idea and insisted that only church-state separation could guarantee the freedom of all Americans. Church-state separation is thus not only an historic principle, it's also America's great gift to the world. Under the separation policy, Americans have enjoyed more religious freedom than any other people in history.

Thanksgiving: What I’m Thankful For – Besides The Turkey And Dressing

When you sit down to your Thanksgiving dinner today, do you plan to say grace?

I Went To The Museum Of The Bible On Saturday, And Here Is What I Saw

If you were anywhere near Washington, D.C., over the weekend, you probably heard about the grand opening of the Museum of the Bible – the $500-million facility funded largely by the evangelical Christian Green family that runs the Hobby Lobby craft store chain.

The Rev. Barry Lynn, AU’s executive director who will retire next week, was invited to tour the museum on Saturday, and I tagged along. I came away with mixed feelings about the place.

Trump’s Latest Department Of Education Nominees Are School Voucher Advocates

President Donald Trump’s nominees to serve as assistants to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos may have more experience in education than her, but they didn’t seem any more prepared than she did at their Senate confirmation hearing this week.
