Naples Chapter Civic Award Luncheon honoring David Goldstein

The Naples Chapter of Americans United will honor David Goldstein with its Civic Award at a Luncheon on Tuesday, January 24th at the Royal Palm Country Club, Lely.

David Goldstein will be honored for his exemplary dedication and commitment to the diversity of American cultural and religious institutions and to living and leading in his beliefs in a manner that has aided our community’s development for all.

David’s activist career began with his involvement on the Citizen’s Foster Care Review Board, eventually becoming chair of the steering committee. About the same time he became involved with PFLAG (Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) where he became a director and ultimately President.  He joined the Center for Critical Thinking and served on its board.

In 2011, David joined the Diversity Committee of the school board working on issues including anti-Semitism, bullying and LGBT rights. He has also been actively involved in Religious Freedom
Day and is a founder of the Coalition for Quality Public Education.  As befitting a former attorney, David joined the board of the Collier County ACLU and has served as it president for the past five years.
