Around The World: Man Attacks ‘Immoral’ Movie During Flight

  AU admin

An ultra-Orthodox Jewish man “rioted” during an El Al flight to Tel Aviv in February and began smashing TV screens on the plane, successfully breaking two, because he objected to the “immoral” content of the in-flight movie.

That film, “Truth,” was rated R for language and brief nudity.

An official with El Al told Walla, a Hebrew-language news website, that it “is not prepared to accept violent behavior of any kind during flights.” Police were waiting to arrest the man when the plane landed at Ben Gurion International Airport.

There have been several disturbances on El Al flights in recent years. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that an El Al pilot halted an in-flight showing of “Aloha,” a romantic comedy, due to the presence of ultra-Orthodox passengers.
